The shades of skin are not all the same. Some people have a very pale white complexion, others an olive complexion and others amber skin. The harmony of a face does not depend solely on its shapes and proportions, but also on skin tones and how they combine with the colour of clothes. Below, you will find some advice on choosing the right dress based on your skin tone. Individual complexions can range across a wide variety of shades, but fundamentally there are two basic types of undertone: warm and cool. Warm complexions have a yellow undertone, while cool complexions have a pink undertone. Skin can be light or dark, depending on your natural colour and your tan (artificial, for example obtained on a sunbed, or simply seasonal because you have been exposed to the sun). In any case, the undertone does not change. If you identify with the autumn season, the undertone best suited to this season is certainly golden, along with all warm colours (red, orange, yellow, brown, etc.). If you have a dark complexion or are slightly olive-skinned, those with this skin type are best suited to camel, beige, orange, gold and dark brown shades, while blue should absolutely be avoided. The winter season, on the other hand, has a blue or pink undertone and is perfectly suited to those with very pale white skin. White and light blue are also two colours that suit those with a very light skin tone perfectly. Delicate, fair skin should therefore always opt for clothes in strong, bold colours, such as white, black, navy blue, shocking pink or icy shades for shift dresses or trousers. Beige, orange, gold, red and yellow should be avoided because they will make you look even paler. For those with an amber or peach complexion reminiscent of the colours of spring, clothes in soft, pastel colours are certainly suitable. Light green, pale blue, peach, golden yellow, golden brown and even very pale yellow suit those with a complexion that is always bright and rosy. Always avoid dark colours, as they will tend to dull your complexion. For freckled skin reminiscent of the warmer seasons, neutral tones are perfectly suitable when choosing clothes. Choose long skirts in lavender, soft blue or plum. Avoid orange, black, dark blue and dark brown dresses. Always try to enhance your skin tones and play with brighter colours, especially if you have very dark skin. Avoid dimming the radiance of your face with overly sombre colours such as grey, taupe and burgundy.
