How to choose the perfect jacket for spring

With the arrival of spring, we can finally put away our padded jacket, scarf and hat and focus on choosing the perfect jacket to wear over the coming months. The choice of ideal outerwear, however, can vary greatly depending on how we intend to use it and the occasion for which we will wear it. Here is how to always be fashionable without ever being inappropriate:

• We can only begin with the timeless denim jacket: ideal both for everyday wear and an evening out, this garment is an absolute must-have in every woman’s wardrobe. Although it is a spring classic, this year it is absolutely essential to wear a short, fitted style with narrow shoulders and three-quarter sleeves; floral or stone embellishments add an indispensable touch of style. It can easily be paired with long, lightweight skirts, casual trousers, sneakers and T-shirts.
  
   
• The (faux) leather jacket is a must-have for the confident woman who refuses to compromise on a unique style. The choice of style and colour is highly personal, so it is worth considering three different options. For a look with a rock-and-roll spirit that remains understated, classic black, strictly in a slim fit, is still the best choice. For a very young and light-hearted look, choose a short-cut style in bright colours, which are ideal at this time of year. If elegance is your preference, opt for a very understated garment with three-quarter sleeves in light colours. A leather jacket can be paired with trousers or skirts, but not in the same material, to avoid a slightly outdated biker look.
  
  
  
• For a slightly more bon ton outfit suitable for going to work or attending an elegant occasion, choose a trench coat. With this garment, you will never be inappropriately dressed.
