September and autumn not only mark the return to work, but also the resumption of good habits, those that perhaps we neglected a little during the summer. Among these, for many, there is also the return to the gym: an opportunity to get fit, de-stress and take care of oneself.
And if training requires constancy and motivation, clothing also plays a key role and does not have to make us renounce style. Feeling comfortable and well-groomed at the same time can make all the difference.
So practical, breathable and comfortable yes, but also super glamorous. Here are the must-have items to return to the gym in style in September by choosing looks that are functional and in step with the trends.
Back to the gym: the must-have garments
But what is the right look to wear to the gym, combining practicality and style? If we are talking about comfortable and functional clothing, for training or the gym, we cannot fail to mention leggings, a must-have garment that has been in our wardrobe for years and has become a real passe-partout, even for leisure time.
The high-waisted model is the most popular among those who work out, because it supports, slims and allows you to move comfortably without any discomfort. However, there are many alternatives, such as lightweight joggers, perfect for September and early autumn, and soft technical trousers that are ideal for activities such as yoga or pilates.
Every legging, of course, wants a top that is just as important. We can choose a sports top with an integrated bra, which provides support and freedom of movement. Alternatively, we can opt for t-shirts, in microfibre or a cotton blend, which help to keep the skin dry and feel comfortable even during the most intense workouts. Do you want a trendier look? Then choose a sporty crop top to go with your high-waisted leggings.
Don't forget sweatshirts and sporty cardigans, which can be worn during outdoor training or on the way to the gym. Oversized hooded sweatshirts are a must-have for September and are great for both early and post-workout stretching. Lightweight sports cardigans or technical anoraks are also perfect for cooler days and outdoor sports.
Trendy colours to wear to the gym
Comfort and functionality, we have said, are crucial when choosing sportswear for the gym and for training. Yet the eye also wants its part, and maybe a bit of colour too. There is no real rule for choosing the right colours, but we can certainly rely on the seasonal palette, which still sees soft pastels such as sage green and light lilac at the top of the trend colours.
If you want to be daring, however, you are spoilt for choice with the more energetic tones, among them fuchsia, orange and yellow, capable of giving any sporty outfit an edge. If, on the other hand, you are a lover of sobriety, then opt for total black and total white, which never go out of fashion, even in the gym.
If, on the other hand, you want to personalise your looks to the maximum, you can create mix and matches with neutral colours and more iridescent shades in details such as cuffs, sports anklets, socks and shoes.
