Legs in the breeze, even better when enhanced by an enviable tan. This is the mood of summer's, regardless of trends and the garments seen on the catwalk, there is little to say: in summer, the skirt reigns supreme.

Miniskirts, midi skirts, gypsy skirts, culotte skirts—and the more styles there are, the more the merrier. But are we sure that particular skirt style really suits us?

How to choose a skirt according to your body shape.

Will it suit me ? How many times have we asked ourselves this question while looking at a garment we really love? And when it comes to skirts, an essential garment for battling the sultry heat of a summer that is still at the height of its splendour.

So, don't worry: you don't have to give up anything at all. You simply have to choose the skirt style that flatters your body.

First of all, let me say that when it comes to quality garments—especially those made in Italy—you will have no particular problems with fit. This is precisely because there is great care and attention devoted to the raw materials and the garment's craftsmanship, allowing it to “glide” over you without diminishing your body or its contours.

However, as I have already mentioned, I can confirm that there are a few simple measures you can take to choose a skirt for your summer wardrobe that flatters your body.
When you look in the mirror, you will never again think that you have made the wrong purchase.

How to choose a skirt: highlighting your best features.

It may seem obvious, but sometimes choosing a garment that highlights our best features does not come so naturally to us. Sometimes it is because we are afraid of daring a little too much; at other times, because we want to follow trends. But let me tell you: your style should not have to answer to anything.

If you have a little tummy and pronounced hips, my advice is to opt for a balloon skirt. This style effectively covers the upper part of the body and highlights the legs, which in this case become the undisputed stars of the outfit.

If, on the other hand, the aim is to cover your legs, long skirts come to your aid. You can choose from different lengths; ideally, it should be certainly below the knee.

In this case, however, have fun with colours, prints and patterns. If you want to highlight your curves, don't be afraid to go for light shades .

If you have a slender figure, I should not have to tell you: a pencil skirt for life. The classic, formal pencil cut has an elegance with a long-standing tradition.

I recommend avoiding miniskirts—the truly mini kind—for formal occasions. Save them instead for an afternoon stroll or shopping in the city.

Last but by no means least are culotte skirts. Those that reach mid-calf are best worn with a heeled shoe that elongates the entire female silhouette.

And you, which skirt do you prefer for your body shape?
